Billabong High International School in Mumbai City seeks a dedicated PGT Botany Teacher to lead advanced botany classes for senior students. Core duties include:
Curriculum Development – Designing and implementing innovative botany lessons, lab activities, and project-based assessments. Aligning syllabus with school and board requirements while encouraging critical thinking.
Classroom Instruction – Delivering lectures, demonstrations, and discussions on botany topics such as plant physiology, biodiversity, and biotechnology. Using multimedia tools and real-world examples to enhance student engagement.
Laboratory Supervision – Overseeing botany lab sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and guiding students through experiments like DNA extraction or plant tissue culture. Maintaining well-equipped lab facilities.
Student Mentorship – Supporting students in research projects, competitions, and extracurricular activities like science fairs or eco-clubs. Providing guidance on academic and career paths in botany-related fields.
Assessment and Feedback – Evaluating student performance through exams, projects, and continuous assessment. Offering constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and problem-solving skills.
Collaboration – Working closely with the science faculty to integrate botany with other subjects like chemistry, physics, and environmental science. Participating in departmental meetings and curriculum reviews.
The PGT Botany Teacher must hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a postgraduate qualification in Botany or a related field. A strong foundation in botany principles, along with teaching experience in senior classes, is essential. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly preferred for this role.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of Rs.35,000 to Rs.70,000 per month, along with opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic academic environment.
