Position summary
PGT Geography Teacher Job in Mumbai City, Maharastra | School Recruitment
An experienced PGT Geography teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons for secondary students at B.d Somani International School | Navi Mumbai. The role involves preparing curriculum aligned with state standards and fostering a dynamic learning environment for students in grades 6 to 10.
Reporting and scope
Reports to the Head of Science and Technology Department and collaborates with fellow teachers on interdisciplinary projects.
Core duties
Curriculum development and lesson planning for geography units, incorporating maps, GIS tools, and current events.
Deliver classroom instruction using a mix of lectures, group discussions, and interactive activities.
Assess student progress through quizzes, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
Coordinate with teachers of related subjects to integrate geographical concepts into broader science curricula.
Mentor junior teachers and assist in professional development workshops.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student behavior.
Participate in school events, science fairs, and community outreach programs related to geography.
Qualification and experience
Post‑graduation in Geography or a related field.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed required; TET/CTET preferred.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the PGT level.
Strong command of geographical concepts, map skills, and technology tools.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Compensation and location
Full‑time position based in Mumbai City, Maharastra.
Salary range: Rs.45,000 – Rs.70,000 per month.
