- Organize inter‑school tournaments and intra‑school competitions, coordinating logistics, safety measures and fair play.
- Assess student performance through practical demonstrations, fitness tests and project work, providing constructive feedback and maintaining records.
- Collaborate with the school’s sports coordinator to update equipment, manage inventory and ensure the playgrounds meet safety standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, curriculum reviews and professional development workshops to keep the Physical Education curriculum aligned with state guidelines.
Typical Working Week
A typical week sees the teacher delivering multiple PE sessions, supervising outdoor activities during breaks, and guiding students in after‑school sports clubs. Regular interaction with class teachers helps integrate physical education with overall academic goals, while occasional parent‑teacher meetings discuss student progress.
Periodic Responsibilities
- Prepare annual sports calendar and coordinate with external coaches for specialized training camps.
- Conduct annual fitness assessments and compile reports for school management.
- Lead school’s participation in district‑level sports meets and represent Nahar International School at community health initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post‑graduate degree in Physical Education or related discipline.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET/CTET qualification is preferred.
- Minimum three years of teaching experience at the PGT level, preferably in a school setting.
Salary
The compensation package is Rs.55,000 - Rs.90,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
