Billabong High International School | Amanora in Amanora, Pune is seeking a dedicated PRT Dance Teacher to inspire creativity and cultural appreciation among students. This role focuses on delivering engaging dance lessons across various styles, fostering artistic expression and discipline within the school’s vibrant environment.
Responsibilities
Teach dance classes to students in grades 6 to 12, covering ballet, contemporary, folk, and modern dance forms. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards while ensuring age-appropriate techniques and safety measures. Collaborate with the dance faculty to enhance extracurricular activities, including school performances and cultural festivals. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging participation from all students regardless of skill level. Organize and assist in school events where dance is featured, such as annual fests and inter-school competitions.
Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, preferably with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A strong foundation in dance with at least three years of teaching experience is essential. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly beneficial for career growth in this role. Familiarity with Indian classical and contemporary dance styles is a plus.
Experience
Minimum three years of teaching experience in a school setting, preferably in dance or physical education. Experience in motivating diverse student groups and adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles is required. Knowledge of educational technology for virtual dance classes would be an asset during hybrid learning periods.
Salary and Employment
The selected candidate will be offered a full-time position with a monthly salary ranging from Rs.17,000 to Rs.35,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
