Role Responsibilities
Design and implement age-appropriate Physical Education programs that blend academics with athletics, ensuring all students participate in various sports like cricket, football, basketball, and track events. Conduct daily physical training sessions, including drills, games, and conditioning exercises, while maintaining safety standards. Develop and update sports equipment inventory, ensuring classrooms and sports grounds are well-maintained for student use.
Teach fundamental sports skills, rules, and strategies across different levels, adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse student abilities. Organize and lead inter-house and inter-school sports events, fostering healthy competition and camaraderie. Collaborate with coaches and administrators to integrate sports into the school’s extracurricular calendar, ensuring alignment with academic goals.
Monitor student progress in physical fitness, attendance, and sportsmanship, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement. Represent the school at local sports tournaments and represent the institution at community events promoting fitness awareness. Ensure compliance with school policies on safety, hygiene, and discipline during all physical activities.
Eligibility
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a postgraduate qualification in Physical Education or a related field. Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in Physical Education or sports-related subjects. Experience in shaping young athletes’ skills and character is a strong asset. Familiarity with Maharashtra’s school sports curriculum and local sports federations will be beneficial.
