Responsibilities
Teach Physical Education to students in grades from 6 to 12, ensuring they follow structured activities aligned with curriculum guidelines. Design and implement age-appropriate drills, games, and sports sessions to enhance physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. Monitor student participation, performance, and safety during outdoor activities, adjusting exercises based on individual needs and skill levels.
Plan and conduct regular fitness assessments, including endurance tests, strength evaluations, and flexibility drills. Collaborate with the school’s sports coordinator to organize inter-house competitions, sports days, and extracurricular sports events. Ensure all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and used for teaching purposes.
Maintain accurate records of student progress in physical activities, including attendance, performance feedback, and participation in sports events. Work closely with the principal and other teachers to integrate physical education into the broader academic and co-curricular development of students.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field, followed by a postgraduate qualification in Physical Education or a relevant subject. Possess a Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) for teaching certification. Four years of relevant teaching experience in Physical Education at the secondary level is mandatory.
Ensure compliance with the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) requirements for Maharashtra. The Academy School values candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm for sports and a commitment to fostering a healthy, active lifestyle among students.
