The Sia Primary & High School | Thane is looking for a dedicated PGT Accountancy Teacher to join our faculty. This full‑time position requires a postgraduate degree and a passion for imparting accounting knowledge to secondary students.
Role introduction
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive Accountancy lessons to classes 9 to 12. The teacher will design lesson plans that align with the Maharashtra state curriculum and ensure students achieve a solid understanding of financial principles and bookkeeping techniques.
Responsibilities
Daily classes will involve explaining concepts such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis. The teacher will use practical examples from local businesses to make lessons relatable. Assessment duties include preparing monthly quizzes, mid‑term exams, and end‑of‑year papers. Grading will be done with a focus on clarity and fairness.
Beyond classroom teaching, the teacher will mentor students preparing for competitive exams like UGC‑NET and CSIR‑NET in the field of economics and finance. Participation in school committees that plan academic events, such as the annual business fair, is expected.
The teacher will also maintain up‑to‑date records of student progress and report any concerns to the principal promptly. Attendance of professional development workshops and seminars is encouraged to stay current with educational best practices.
Qualification and experience
A Master’s degree in Commerce or a related field is mandatory. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is required for teaching positions, while TET/CTET certifications are preferred but not mandatory. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting is essential. Demonstrated ability to use technology in the classroom, such as accounting software demonstrations, will be an advantage.
Salary and location
The remuneration package ranges from Rs.42,000 to Rs.60,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is based in Thane, Maharashtra, with a full‑time commitment.
