The Sia Primary & High School | Thane is seeking an experienced and passionate PGT Geography Teacher to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who can inspire students with engaging lessons on India’s diverse landscapes, climate zones, and environmental challenges while aligning with Maharashtra’s curriculum standards.
The PGT Geography Teacher at The Sia Primary & High School | Thane will design and deliver dynamic classroom lessons, ensuring students grasp concepts like physical geography, human-environment interactions, and regional studies. You’ll create interactive maps, field trip plans, and project-based activities to bring geography to life, especially for students in Class 9-12. Collaboration with the science and social studies departments will help integrate geography with other subjects, fostering a holistic learning experience. Assessing student progress through continuous evaluation—such as quizzes, projects, and practical demonstrations—will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you’ll prepare students for board exams by offering extra guidance and revising key topics in a structured way.
To qualify, you must hold a postgraduate degree in Geography along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in geography at the secondary level is required, preferably in a school setting. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, having it will strengthen your application. Your ability to communicate complex geographical concepts clearly and passionately is essential, especially in a multicultural environment like Thane.
This PGT Geography Teacher position offers a competitive salary of Rs.42,000 to Rs.60,000 per month, along with a location in the vibrant and educational hub of Thane, Maharastra.
