Biology (TGT) Vacancy in Thane, Maharastra
DON BOSCO SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL Mumbai
Job Description
About This Role
Don Bosco Senior Secondary School Mumbai runs a paper-light, digital-first classroom where every Biology lesson begins with a quick interactive quiz on smart boards. Students explore 3D cell models before touching microscopes, and lab reports are submitted via Google Forms that auto-grade. The school uses a blended model: live classes on Google Meet, flipped videos on YouTube, and weekly assignments in its Moodle LMS. As a TGT Biology Teacher, you will step into this tech-enabled ecosystem and help students connect concepts to real-life cases such as Mumbai’s water pollution or local biodiversity hotspots.
Teaching Approach
Lessons are planned in Google Classroom with pre-class reading, in-class smart-board activities, and post-class quizzes that track concept retention. The Biology lab is equipped with digital microscopes that stream directly to students’ Chromebooks. Weekly flipped videos on photosynthesis and respiration are assigned through YouTube playlists; class time is reserved for hands-on DNA extraction and field data collection using mobile sensors. Assessments are auto-analyzed by the LMS to identify weak topics early.
What You Will Do
Integrate smart-board animations for mitosis and meiosis, ensuring students can visualize chromosome behavior in real time.
Create and upload flipped lessons on human endocrine system for Google Classroom, with embedded MCQs that provide instant feedback.
Run weekly Google Meet revision sessions for students who miss classes due to sports or cultural events.
Grade lab reports submitted through Google Forms, using rubrics that auto-calculate scores and generate analytics.
Organize virtual guest lectures by Mumbai-based biologists and stream them live for absent students.
Train students to use PhET simulations for Mendelian genetics and enzyme kinetics during lab hours.
Maintain a digital portfolio of student projects on local environmental issues, updated each term.
Coordinate with the IT team to troubleshoot Chromebook and LMS access issues before the start of each unit.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must hold a post-graduate degree in Biology with B.Ed or D.El.Ed. Four years of full-time Biology teaching experience in a secondary school is required. TET/CTET is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with smart boards, Google Workspace, and LMS platforms is a plus.
What Makes You a Fit
You should be comfortable designing interactive smart-board lessons and flipping the classroom using YouTube and Google Classroom. Familiarity with PhET simulations, digital microscopes, and Moodle analytics will help you deliver measurable outcomes. Experience running virtual labs and managing Chromebook fleets in a Mumbai school environment is desirable.
Perks and Pay
The monthly salary for this full-time TGT Biology Teacher vacancy in Thane ranges from Rs.25,000 to Rs.45,000 based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include subsidized transport within Thane, in-house professional development on digital pedagogy, and access to the school’s Chromebook pool for lesson planning. Don Bosco Senior Secondary School Mumbai provides a supportive ecosystem where innovative teaching meets community impact.
