About This Role
St. Xavier School is looking for a full-time PRT Dance Teacher to join its vibrant arts faculty. The role focuses on nurturing young dancers in grades 1 to 5 through creative movement and structured lessons. Experience with Odia cultural dance forms will be an added advantage in Cuttack’s school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan weekly dance sessions aligned with the school’s arts curriculum.
Teach basic to intermediate dance techniques to primary students.
Organize annual dance performances and inter-house competitions.
Prepare students for school-level and inter-school cultural events.
Maintain discipline and safety during dance practice sessions.
Collaborate with music and art teachers for cross-disciplinary projects.
Keep records of student progress and attendance.
Attend staff meetings and professional development workshops.
Who Can Apply
Must Have
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in dance.
Familiarity with Indian classical, folk, or contemporary dance styles.
Good to Have
CTET or TET certification.
Experience in school dance programs.
Knowledge of Odissi or other Odia dance forms.
Skills We Value
Strong classroom management with young learners.
Creativity in lesson planning and choreography.
Patience and energy to engage energetic primary students.
Basic proficiency in music and rhythm coordination.
Salary and Benefits
Monthly salary ranges from Rs.17,500 to Rs.28,000 based on experience.
