About This Role
Saraswati Vidya Mandir is expanding its student support framework by creating a new leadership role for a Psychological Counsellor. The position is designed to guide the school’s emotional wellness strategy while working closely with the principal and administrative team. The Psychological Counsellor will lead awareness sessions for parents and teachers on adolescent mental health concerns common in coastal Odisha districts like Ganjam. Key Responsibilities
Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions for students across Classes 1 to 12, maintaining confidential records and progress notes in Saraswati Vidya Mandir’s student management system. Prepare quarterly mental health reports for the school management to track recurring issues such as exam stress or social adjustment challenges.
Organize workshops for teachers on recognizing early signs of anxiety, bullying, or learning difficulties in classroom settings. Train peer counsellors from senior classes to support younger students during recess and after-school hours.
Collaborate with the school nurse to identify students with recurring psychosomatic symptoms and recommend suitable interventions. Maintain liaison with district education officers and local paediatricians for seamless case referrals when required.

Who Can Apply
Postgraduate degree in Psychology or Counselling with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in school or institutional settings. Candidates with prior exposure to CBSE-affiliated schools in coastal Odisha will be preferred.
