How You Will Teach
As a PGT Geography Teacher, you will use a blended learning approach to deliver lessons, incorporating both traditional and digital methods. You will utilize smart boards to create interactive lessons, and Google Classroom to share resources and assignments with students. Our school uses an LMS to facilitate online collaboration and tracking of student progress. You will also use digital tools to create engaging GeoGebra simulations and interactive maps to bring the subject to life.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Plan and deliver Geography lessons to students in grades 6-12
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that integrate technology
- Use smart boards to create interactive lessons and presentations
- Utilize Google Classroom to share resources and assignments with students
- Track student progress and provide feedback using our LMS
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and curricula
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate with parents through digital channels
- Maintain a tidy and organized classroom, using digital tools to facilitate record-keeping and organization
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Geography or a related subject (M.A., M.Sc.)
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree required for teaching positions
- TET or CTET certification is preferred but not required
- 2 years of experience in teaching Geography at a school level
- Strong subject matter expertise and knowledge of the Indian geography curriculum
Preferred Skills
- Digital literacy and comfort with online teaching tools
- Experience with GeoGebra and other digital tools for geography teaching
- Familiarity with Google Classroom and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative lesson plans
