What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and evaluate the Economics curriculum at St. Xavier International School, ensuring alignment with national standards and school policies.
- Teach Economics to Classes XI and XII, with a focus on engaging students and promoting critical thinking.
- Mentor and supervise junior Economics teachers, providing guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment strategies.
- Collaborate with the Vice Principal to develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze and interpret board exam results to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies for enhancement.
- Contribute to the development of school policies and programs, particularly in the area of Economics education.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to enhance the Economics program.
- Participate in staff development programs, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on best practices in Economics education.
- Assist in the preparation of school events, such as Economics fairs, competitions, and seminars.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Economics teachers, parents, and students to promote a culture of academic excellence.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A postgraduate degree in Economics or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching Economics at the senior secondary level.
- A Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is mandatory.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) qualification in Economics.
- Strong knowledge of the Odia and English languages is essential.
