Job Description
International Public School in Ludhiana is seeking a dedicated PRT Evs Teacher to join their team and inspire students through engaging environmental education. This role focuses on delivering hands-on lessons in Environmental Studies (Evs) while fostering a sustainable mindset among pupils. The position aligns with the school’s commitment to eco-conscious learning and practical conservation efforts.
The teacher will work under the guidance of the science department, ensuring curriculum alignment with local and national environmental standards. Collaboration with school staff will be key to integrating Evs into daily activities, such as classroom projects, field trips, and community initiatives.
Core duties
Teaching Environmental Studies (Evs) classes, covering topics like biodiversity, waste management, and climate change, using interactive and experiential methods.
Designing lesson plans that incorporate real-world examples relevant to Ludhiana’s geography and ecology, such as local water conservation projects or urban forestry.
Facilitating outdoor learning experiences, including school garden maintenance, recycling drives, and visits to environmental parks or nature reserves.
Assisting in organizing school events like Earth Day celebrations, tree-planting drives, or sustainability workshops for parents and students.
Maintaining accurate student records and participating in progress assessments to track environmental awareness development.
Qualification and experience
A graduate degree with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory for this role. A TET/CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
At least two years of teaching experience in schools, preferably in subjects like science, social studies, or environmental education.
Strong communication skills to explain complex environmental concepts in simple terms, appealing to both students and parents.
A passion for sustainability and practical engagement with environmental causes, as demonstrated through projects or volunteer work.
Compensation and location
This is a full-time position offering a monthly salary of Rs.17,000 to Rs.28,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The role is based in Ludhiana East, with the opportunity to contribute to International Public School’s efforts in nurturing environmentally aware citizens.
