History (PGT) Vacancy in Mansa, Punjab
The Renaissance School
Job Description
Teaching History at The Renaissance School means you’ll spend most of your day planning and delivering lessons that connect students to Punjab’s past—whether it’s the Mughal era, freedom struggles, or local history like Mansa’s heritage. You’ll teach classes from Class 9 to 12, using maps, documents, and debates to make history engaging, especially for students who may not see themselves in textbooks. Your role also includes grading assignments, preparing lesson plans, and sometimes helping with school events like cultural fairs or history workshops.
Your daily tasks include:
Teaching core History syllabus, focusing on Indian and regional history with a focus on Punjab’s cultural and political evolution.
Creating engaging lesson plans, using visuals like timelines, primary sources, and case studies to keep students interested.
Assisting in school events like history exhibitions or guest lectures by invited historians.
Reviewing student assignments and providing feedback to help them grasp key concepts.
Collaborating with the principal and other teachers to align History curriculum with school policies.
Participating in staff meetings to discuss teaching strategies and curriculum updates.
Maintaining a classroom that’s well-organized, with resources like books, maps, and digital presentations ready for lessons.
To apply for this PGT History Teacher position, you must have a postgraduate degree in History or a related subject, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Three years of teaching experience, preferably in History or social sciences, is required. While TET/CTET isn’t mandatory, it’s an advantage if you have it. Your teaching style should blend traditional methods with modern techniques, especially for students in a fast-paced environment like The Renaissance School.
You’ll bring enthusiasm for teaching history, especially local and regional stories, and the ability to adapt lessons for diverse student backgrounds. A strong command of English and Punjabi will help in delivering clear, engaging lessons. Your attitude should be patient, encouraging, and committed to making history relevant and exciting for students.
This role offers a competitive salary of Rs.30,000 to Rs.50,000 per month, along with benefits like a uniform allowance and access to professional development opportunities. The Renaissance School values dedicated teachers who bring passion and practical experience to the classroom.
To apply, send your resume and relevant certificates to the school’s HR department with your interest in the PGT History Teacher position.
