Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons for Classes 6 to 10 as per CBSE guidelines. Develop and refine lesson plans, practical experiments, and assessment tools tailored to the TGT level. Monitor student progress through regular tests and provide targeted feedback to improve performance.
Oversee the Chemistry laboratory, ensure availability of safe equipment, and conduct periodic safety audits. Collaborate with other subject teachers to integrate interdisciplinary learning opportunities within the Chemistry curriculum. Guide junior teachers through classroom observations, feedback sessions, and resource sharing to elevate teaching standards.
Set term-wise academic targets for Chemistry students and track progress toward achieving consistent board results. Organize inter-house Chemistry quizzes, model-making competitions, and guest lectures to enhance student interest. Represent the school in inter-school Science fairs and Chemistry Olympiads to build institutional visibility.
Maintain accurate academic records, prepare detailed progress reports, and communicate student performance to parents during PTMs. Lead departmental meetings to discuss curriculum gaps, resource requirements, and innovative teaching methods. Assist in the selection and training of new Chemistry faculty to align with school values.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Chemistry with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university. B.Ed degree is mandatory; D.El.Ed holders with Chemistry specialization will also be considered.
Minimum 4 years of teaching experience in Chemistry at the secondary level, preferably in CBSE-affiliated schools. TET/CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory for this role.
