Jecrc University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for the position of Professor in Mobile Computing. Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mobile Computing, including wireless communication, mobile OS, and app development frameworks. Supervise final-year projects and dissertations focused on real-world mobile technology challenges. Conduct advanced research in areas like 5G integration, energy-efficient protocols, or mobile security and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
Lead curriculum development for new electives such as Cloud-Edge Computing for Mobile Devices and AI in Mobile Applications. Guide doctoral students in their thesis work and serve on doctoral committees across the university. Participate in funded research projects with government agencies or corporate sponsors based in Rajasthan. Organize national seminars and workshops in collaboration with IEEE Rajasthan Section and local tech clusters.
Eligibility Criteria
A PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics Engineering with a specialization in Mobile Computing or closely related fields is mandatory. Candidates must have at least five years of teaching and research experience in a university or research institution. UGC-NET with JRF or a valid GATE score is required if the PhD is not completed. Post-doctoral research or industry experience in mobile platform development will be given preference.
Publications in mobile computing journals with a minimum of ten Scopus-indexed papers as first or corresponding author are expected. Experience in guiding MTech dissertations and serving as a reviewer for journals like IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing is desirable. Familiarity with funding agencies such as DST, MeitY, or SERB is advantageous.
Research Opportunities
Jecrc University offers collaborative research projects with companies in Jaipur’s IT hub, including startups working on mobile fintech and smart city solutions. Faculty can apply for seed grants under the university’s internal research fund to support pilot studies in mobile AR/VR or wearable device applications. What You Get
The monthly salary for this position ranges from Rs.60,000 to Rs.89,000 as per UGC norms, with additional research grants available based on project approvals.
