Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
You will teach mathematics to students in the Primary and Upper Primary sections of Sunshine English School in Namchi. Your lessons must cover core syllabus topics like algebra, geometry, and basic trigonometry, ensuring clarity and engagement. Daily classroom time will be allocated to deliver structured lessons, solve student queries, and reinforce concepts through practical examples.
You will prepare and present lesson plans aligned with the Sikkim Board curriculum, ensuring age-appropriate explanations and interactive activities. Assess student understanding through periodic tests and homework assignments to track progress and identify areas needing improvement.
Your role also includes maintaining a positive learning environment where students feel confident exploring mathematical concepts. Simple record-keeping of attendance and student performance will be part of your daily tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field as a minimum qualification. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree will be required for formal teacher certification in Sikkim. Three years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting, is essential for this position.
The ideal candidate will have a strong command of mathematics fundamentals and the ability to simplify complex topics for younger learners. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be an asset for this role.
