Leadership expectations and curriculum ownership
Own the school’s music curriculum from Grades 1 to 5, aligning lessons with national standards and local cultural themes. Lead school assemblies, annual day performances, and inter-house music competitions with confidence and creativity. Guide students in choir, instrumental ensembles, and rhythmic activities to foster teamwork and discipline.
Core responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging weekly music lessons for 100+ students across primary classes, using smartboards and traditional instruments. Organize quarterly music appreciation sessions featuring Carnatic ragas and Tamil folk songs to connect students with heritage. Prepare students for inter-school Music Teacher Recruitment in Tamilnadu events and zonal cultural fests. Maintain classroom instruments, inventory, and a safe music room environment. Collaborate with art and dance teachers to create cross-disciplinary projects. Assess student progress through periodic recitals and participation logs.
