Role Overview
Sri R.m. Jain Matriculation School in Tiruvallur, Tamilnadu is hiring a full‑time PRT Dance Teacher. The candidate will conduct dance classes for primary and lower‑secondary students, preparing them for school functions and cultural events.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and evaluate age‑appropriate dance lessons in line with the school curriculum and extracurricular schedule.
- Teach basic to intermediate techniques in classical, folk and contemporary dance forms, ensuring safety and correct posture.
- Organise and choreograph performances for annual day, cultural festivals and inter‑school competitions.
- Maintain attendance registers, lesson plans and progress records for each class.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department and other teachers to integrate dance into thematic projects and school celebrations.
- Supervise students during rehearsals, ensuring discipline, punctuality and a respectful learning environment.
Professional Expectations
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Indian dance styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learner abilities.
- Uphold the school’s values of creativity, inclusivity and holistic development while fostering a positive attitude towards the arts.

Qualification & Experience
- Graduate degree in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed preferred.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in dance, preferably in a school setting.
- TET/CTET qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
Salary
The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs.14,000 to Rs.22,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
