Akshara International School in Namapally is looking for a TGT Social Science Teacher who can shape the understanding of young minds in Hyderabad’s diverse student community. The role demands a teacher who can bring history, geography and civics to life for students aged 12 to 15. Your lessons will connect textbook concepts to real-world issues that students see around them in Telangana every day.
Your Students
Students at Akshara International School come from varied backgrounds across Namapally and nearby areas of Hyderabad. They bring curiosity about India’s freedom struggle, curiosity about Telangana’s geography, and questions about current events in their neighbourhoods. Your teaching will help them see how social science explains the world they live in.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging TGT Social Science lessons that cover history, geography and civics for classes 6 to 8. Use maps, timelines and local examples to make lessons relevant to students in Hyderabad and Telangana.
Assess student progress through regular tests, projects and class participation to identify learning gaps in Social Science. Provide timely feedback so students understand where they can improve.
Organise field visits within Namapally or nearby Hyderabad to connect classroom learning with real places—museums, heritage sites or local government offices.
Collaborate with other subject teachers to integrate Social Science concepts across subjects, especially with language and environmental studies.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans and student portfolios as required by Akshara International School policies.
Participate in school events such as Independence Day, Republic Day and local festivals to highlight social science themes.
Attend monthly staff meetings and professional development sessions to stay updated on teaching methods in Social Science.
Who Can Apply
Postgraduate in Social Science with a minimum of three years of teaching experience in middle school. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory. Experience teaching students from Hyderabad or Telangana is preferred.
Preferred Skills
Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts in simple language. Ability to use digital tools like PowerPoint and Google Earth for interactive lessons.
Experience designing age-appropriate assessments that test understanding rather than rote memory. Familiarity with Telangana state syllabus for Social Science is an advantage.
