PROFESSOR - Software Engineering in Warangal, Telangana | University Recruitment
Role Summary
Sr University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Hasanparthy, Warangal, is expanding its research footprint in Software Engineering. Day-to-Day Duties
Teach advanced courses in Software Engineering, Agile Methodologies, and Cloud-Native Development to M.Tech and Ph.D. students at Sr University. Mentor project teams in capstone courses and industry-sponsored assignments. Lead curriculum design for new electives aligned with IEEE and ACM standards.
Conduct sponsored research in software reliability, DevOps automation, and blockchain applications for smart contracts. Publish findings in Q1 journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. Secure internal grants and external funding from MeitY and UGC under IMPRINT and SPARC schemes.
Guide doctoral students in thesis writing, literature surveys, and ethical research practices. Serve as examiner for Ph.D. vivas at Sr University and partner institutions. Review papers for conferences like ICSE and ASE hosted in India.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Software Engineering or Computer Science with a specialization in software systems from an institution recognized by UGC. Post-doctoral research or industry R&D experience of at least two years is strongly preferred. Candidates without a Ph.D. may apply for Assistant Professor roles if they have qualified UGC-NET with JRF in Computer Science and Engineering.
A minimum of five years of full-time teaching or research experience in Software Engineering is required. Prior experience in guiding M.Tech dissertations and securing funded projects is desirable. Familiarity with Telugu or local language pedagogy is an added advantage.
Research & Publications
Sr University encourages interdisciplinary projects linking Software Engineering with AI/ML, IoT, and healthcare informatics. Faculty are supported to establish labs with high-performance computing clusters and licensed software tools. Annual research budgets allow procurement of datasets and cloud credits for empirical studies.
Publication targets include at least three Scopus-indexed papers every academic year. Faculty are encouraged to file patents for novel algorithms and frameworks developed within the department. Collaborations with NIT Warangal and IIIT Hyderabad are actively promoted for joint publications.
Research Leadership
As a Professor, you will chair doctoral committees and co-guide students alongside senior faculty at Sr University. You will evaluate thesis proposals, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion as per UGC norms. External examiners from IITs and central universities are invited for defense evaluations.
You will represent Sr University at national forums like the Software Engineering Conference of India. Serving on review panels for SERB and DST will strengthen institutional visibility. Organizing workshops and invited talks by industry experts is part of the role.
Salary and Benefits
The consolidated monthly salary ranges from Rs.70,000 to Rs.120,000 as per UGC norms for Professor positions. Additional research grants up to Rs.10 lakh per project are available through UGC and DST schemes. House rent allowance, medical reimbursement, and children’s education allowance are provided as per university policy.
Faculty housing within the Sr University campus is available on a rental basis. Travel support for presenting papers at international conferences is reimbursed up to Rs.2 lakh per year. Professional memberships in IEEE Computer Society and ACM are subsidized.
