About This Role
Milton Public School seeks a senior PRT English Teacher to shape the department and mentor younger educators. The role carries responsibility for driving curriculum standards and supporting board results across Grades 1 to 5. It is suited to a graduate with two years of classroom experience who wants to take ownership of English teaching at the primary stage. This position can also lead into a Head of Department track for the right candidate.
Day-to-Day Duties
Plan and deliver English lessons that align with CBSE guidelines and Milton Public School’s academic calendar. Design monthly and weekly lesson plans, ensuring coverage of prose, poetry, grammar, and creative writing for junior classes. Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide feedback to parents during PTMs.
Prepare students for English Olympiads and inter-school competitions organized by local agencies in Agra. Organize school-level recitation, storytelling, and elocution events that build confidence and language skills. Collaborate with the department head to review textbooks and supplementary readers for age-appropriate content.
Mentor PRT and TGT teachers through demonstration lessons, peer observations, and resource sharing. Conduct remedial sessions for students identified with language gaps in spoken and written English. Maintain records of attendance, lesson completion, and assessment outcomes for Grades 1 to 5.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduate in English or Education with a B.Ed degree from a recognized university. Minimum two years of teaching experience in English at the primary level in a CBSE-affiliated school. Preference for candidates with CTET or UPTET certification and familiarity with Agra’s school ecosystem.
Strong lesson-planning skills and the ability to create low-cost teaching aids from local materials are essential. Knowledge of phonics-based instruction and multi-skill activities will be valued during selection.
