The reality of this role
You will teach Physics to classes 11 and 12 at St. Xavier International School, handling daily lessons, lab work, and exam prep for students aiming for competitive exams. Expect two lab sessions every week where you set up simple but effective experiments using locally available apparatus. The timetable will include morning classes, a small prep period, and occasional evening doubt-clearing sessions for board exam students.
What you will actually do
Plan and deliver daily Physics classes for grades 11 and 12, following the NCERT syllabus with added reference to local board patterns.
Prepare and conduct at least two practical lab sessions per week, ensuring students record observations and draw correct conclusions.
Create monthly unit tests and quarterly assessments, checking answer sheets within three days and sharing feedback with students.
Organize a Physics club once a month where students discuss real-life applications—like how transformers work in local electricity setups.
Guide students for JEE Main and NEET preparation through weekend extra classes during exam season.
Maintain the lab inventory, labeling equipment, and reporting shortages to the science coordinator immediately.
Attend weekly subject meetings to align lesson plans with the rest of the science department at St. Xavier International School.
Coordinate with parents during PTMs to explain progress, especially in lab-based topics.

What you need to bring
Deep understanding of Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, and Modern Physics as per Class 12 syllabus. Ability to explain complex concepts using everyday examples like cycle brakes for friction or pressure cookers for gas laws. Patience to repeat derivations until every student grasps the logic.
