The reality of this role
At Gd Goenka School you will spend most of the day in a lively classroom of Class 6 to 10 students, guiding them through reading, writing and speaking activities. Lessons are interactive, often involving group discussions, debates and creative projects that reflect local culture. You will also coordinate with fellow teachers for co‑curricular events and help prepare students for board examinations. The workday ends with marking assignments and planning the next day's lessons.
What you will actually do
- Deliver the CBSE English syllabus covering literature, grammar and composition.
- Design and use audio‑visual aids and digital tools for better engagement.
- Conduct periodic oral and written assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Organize reading clubs, spelling bees and debate competitions within the school.
- Maintain accurate attendance and academic records for each class.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for curriculum improvement.
- Supervise students during break time and school functions to ensure safety.
- Liaise with parents during PTMs to discuss student progress and address concerns.
Who can do this job
- Post‑graduate degree in English or related discipline.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience at the secondary level.
- TET/CTET qualification is preferred.
