Role and Responsibilities
Teach Environmental Studies (Evs) to students in classes relevant to the curriculum at St. Xaviers Sr. Sec. School. Ensure engaging and interactive lessons that align with the school’s educational standards while covering topics like ecology, sustainability, and conservation.
Plan and conduct practical sessions, field trips, and hands-on activities to reinforce classroom learning. Monitor student participation and adjust teaching methods based on their understanding and engagement levels.
Prepare lesson plans, syllabus summaries, and assessment materials tailored to the Environmental Studies curriculum. Use age-appropriate teaching aids and resources to enhance student comprehension.
Assist in evaluating student performance through regular assessments, quizzes, and project-based evaluations. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills in Evs.
Collaborate with the subject coordinator to integrate Evs concepts with other school subjects where applicable. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance in the school’s designated systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline as the minimum qualification. Possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) to teach in secondary schools.
Experience in Environmental Studies teaching for at least two years is mandatory. Familiarity with local environmental issues and practical teaching methods will be an asset.
TET/CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory for this position. Strong communication skills and a passion for environmental education are essential.
