Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the daily operations of the library, including cataloging, classification, and maintenance of library resources.
2. Develop and implement effective library programs, workshops, and events to engage students, teachers, and staff.
3. Manage library budgets, procurement, and inventory of library materials, equipment, and furniture.
4. Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum design and delivery.
5. Provide research assistance, bibliographic instruction, and information literacy training to students and teachers.
6. Develop and maintain digital collections, online databases, and other electronic resources.
7. Conduct needs assessments, collection development, and weeding of library materials.
8. Supervise library assistants, volunteers, and interns to ensure smooth library operations.
Required Qualifications
We require a graduate with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field. The candidate must possess a valid B.Ed or D.El.Ed certificate, with preference given to those with TET or CTET certification. A minimum of three years of experience as a LIBRARIAN in a school setting is essential.
