Plan weekly lesson sequences, source age-appropriate music, and create simple visual aids that fit the small indoor hall at Sainik Memorial Public School. Document outcomes term-wise and share brief progress notes with parents during PTMs.
Mentor two junior dance teachers and conduct demonstration lessons to build their confidence in handling pre-primary groups. Guide them on classroom management techniques specific to dance—like safe floor practice and age-appropriate attire checks.
Prepare students for the annual school function where Nursery and KG children perform a short group item. Choreograph simple, repeatable sequences that parents can recognise and applaud without prior exposure.
Collaborate with the art, music, and physical education teams to weave cross-curricular connections—folk songs in Hindi class set to dance steps, or counting in math matched with rhythmic claps.
Attend monthly departmental meetings to review resource needs and share feedback from PTM observations. Keep a running inventory of costumes, props, and audio equipment so nothing is missing when practice starts.
Introduce basic yoga and breathing exercises at the end of each session to help children settle and reflect. Document how these moments improve focus and reduce restlessness in the classroom.
Stay updated on ECCE guidelines from the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board and adjust lesson plans accordingly. Share updates with the principal and academic coordinator promptly.
Required Qualifications
Graduation in any discipline with B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory. Candidates must hold a recognised Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) certificate from an institution approved by SCERT Uttar Pradesh or a similar body.
Prior experience of teaching dance to pre-primary children for at least three years is essential. Familiarity with local cultural forms of Uttar Pradesh will be an advantage during classroom delivery.
