Prepare and maintain lesson plans, assessments, and progress reports to track academic performance. Collaborate with the economics department to integrate interdisciplinary connections, such as business studies or social sciences, where relevant.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and assess economics projects, presentations, and exams to evaluate students’ understanding of macro and microeconomic concepts. Attend department meetings and participate in curriculum review sessions to refine teaching strategies. Maintain a classroom environment that fosters respect, inclusivity, and a love for economic literacy. Stay updated on economic trends, policy changes, and research publications to enrich classroom discussions.
Periodic Responsibilities
Conduct parent-teacher interactions to discuss student progress, challenges, and areas for improvement. Organize extracurricular activities like economics workshops, guest lectures, or field trips to provide hands-on learning experiences. Participate in school events, such as career fairs or academic exhibitions, to promote economics as a relevant and exciting subject.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Economics or a related field with a strong foundation in economic principles. Possess a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification, essential for teaching at this level. Two years of teaching experience, preferably in economics or a related discipline, is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly preferred for this role.
