Daily responsibilities
- Conduct interactive lessons using maps, globes, and digital tools to explain physical and human geography concepts.
- Assess student understanding through quizzes, assignments, and in‑class discussions.
- Maintain accurate attendance and attendance records for the class.
- Coordinate with co‑teachers to integrate cross‑disciplinary projects related to geography.
Regular responsibilities across the academic cycle
- Prepare and update syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching aids in line with the state curriculum.
- Guide students in preparing for board examinations, ensuring they grasp key geography topics.
- Mentor junior teachers and support staff on effective teaching methodologies.
- Participate in faculty meetings to discuss curriculum changes and student progress.
Periodic responsibilities
- Organize field trips to nearby geographical sites, enhancing practical learning experiences.
- Conduct parent‑teacher meetings to discuss student performance and development plans.
- Lead school‑wide geography competitions and exhibitions to promote interest in the subject.
Qualification and experience
- Post‑graduation in Geography or related field.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed required; TET/CTET preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years teaching experience at the PGT level in a school setting.
- Proven ability to use modern teaching aids and technology in the classroom.
Salary and location
- Competitive salary range of Rs.40,000 – Rs.50,000 per month.
