Vedam World School invites a visionary PGT History Teacher to lead the history department and shape the academic culture. The role offers the chance to influence curriculum design, mentor junior teachers, and drive student engagement in history. Strategic Responsibilities
- Design and implement a history curriculum aligned with state standards and national benchmarks.
- Lead classroom instruction, integrating technology and interactive methods to deepen student understanding.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary projects linking history with geography, civics, and social science.
- Mentor and assess the performance of assistant teachers and teaching assistants.
- Organize history clubs, debates, and heritage trips to enhance experiential learning.
- Oversee assessment frameworks, ensuring fair and comprehensive evaluation of student progress.
- Collaborate with senior management on school-wide initiatives such as annual exhibitions and cultural festivals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the department and external bodies like the education board.
- Champion professional development workshops for teachers focusing on innovative history pedagogy.
What You Bring
A postgraduate degree in history and a minimum of two years teaching experience. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET/CTET certification is highly preferred. Proven leadership in a school setting, with a track record of curriculum development and team coordination. Strong communication skills and a passion for nurturing young minds.
