Pedagogy and Tools (specific to Mathematics — practical methods, tools, lab or activity work)
As a PGT Mathematics Teacher, you will be expected to use a range of pedagogical methods to engage students and promote learning. This may include the use of mathematical software, online resources, and hands-on activities to illustrate complex concepts. You will also be responsible for maintaining a well-organized and student-friendly classroom environment.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Teach Mathematics to students at the secondary level, following the prescribed curriculum and syllabus.
2. Prepare and deliver lesson plans, ensuring that they are engaging, interactive, and meet the needs of all learners.
3. Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and colleagues.
4. Develop and implement extra-curricular activities that promote Mathematics skills and interest.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide Mathematics initiatives.
6. Attend staff meetings and contribute to school-wide discussions on Mathematics education.
7. Maintain accurate records of student progress and grades.
8. Participate in school-wide evaluations and assessments of Mathematics programs.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must hold a postgraduate degree in Mathematics (M.Sc./M.A.) and a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed./D.El.Ed.). A valid TET/CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
