About This Role
Seth M.r.jaipuria School invites applications for a PGT Music Teacher to lead the Music department in Lucknow. The role focuses on nurturing students’ appreciation for Hindustani and Western classical, folk, and contemporary music. Candidates should bring a strong academic background in music and at least five years of classroom experience.
How You Will Teach
Classes will be conducted in the well-equipped music lab with instruments such as harmonium, tabla, keyboard, and guitars. Practical sessions will cover vocal training, instrumental performance, and music theory. Students will also learn composition and stage presentation through regular recitals and ensemble practice.
What You Will Do
Prepare structured lesson plans aligned with CBSE guidelines for Music at the senior secondary level. Organize monthly school concerts showcasing student talent in both classical and modern genres. Conduct inter-house and inter-school music competitions to encourage participation. Collaborate with art and cultural clubs to plan annual fests and cultural events. Maintain discipline and focus during ensemble rehearsals and theory classes. Assess students through periodic practical exams and viva sessions. Document student progress in vocal and instrumental skills. Recommend advanced learners for external examinations like Pracheen Kala Kendra or Trinity College.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Music with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory for this PGT position. Candidates with TET or CTET certification will be preferred. Prior teaching experience in a CBSE-affiliated school is desirable.
