Core duties
Teaching dance classes, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, or contemporary dance, aligned with school syllabi and student interests. Preparing and delivering age-appropriate lesson plans that integrate movement, rhythm, and storytelling. Organizing extracurricular dance performances and competitions to showcase student talent and promote teamwork.
Ensuring students adhere to safety protocols during dance practice, especially for younger grades. Collaborating with the arts department to integrate dance elements into interdisciplinary projects, such as cultural festivals or drama productions. Maintaining a well-organized dance studio or designated space, including equipment and props, for smooth classroom operations.
Qualification and experience
A graduate degree with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory for this PRT Dance Teacher position. Experience in teaching dance to children for at least two years is required, preferably in a school environment. Proficiency in at least one classical Indian dance form (Bharatanatyam, Kathak, or Odissi) is essential, along with basic training in modern dance techniques. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly preferred for this role.
Compensation and location
