Your role will also include mentoring junior teachers and representing the school at local dance competitions and workshops.
Core responsibilities include teaching a variety of dance styles—classical, folk, contemporary, and modern—to students from Class I to XII. Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse skill levels while adhering to the school’s syllabus. Organize weekly practice sessions and cultural events, such as inter-house dance performances, to showcase student talent. Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate in parent-teacher interactions to discuss artistic growth. Collaborate with the principal to plan annual dance festivals, ensuring logistical coordination with stage setup, costumes, and judges. Train students in basic choreography and performance techniques, instilling discipline and confidence. Attend regular faculty meetings to share insights on teaching methods and student engagement. Represent the school at regional dance workshops or training programs to stay updated on trends. Ensure compliance with school safety protocols during practice and performances.
Candidates should hold a graduate degree with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification, along with at least two years of teaching experience in dance. A strong background in classical or folk dance traditions, combined with a passion for contemporary styles, is highly desirable. Experience in curriculum development or arts coordination will be an asset. A clean conduct certificate and a valid TET/CTET certificate are preferred, though not mandatory for this role.
