Role Summary

Key Responsibilities
Teach Bioprocess Engineering courses at the undergraduate level with a focus on core concepts and practical applications. Prepare lesson plans, conduct lectures, and evaluate student performance through examinations and assignments. Organize laboratory sessions to demonstrate bioreactor operations, downstream processing, and fermentation technology.
Develop and deliver postgraduate courses in advanced bioprocess engineering topics such as metabolic engineering and bioseparation techniques. Supervise master’s level projects and theses to ensure academic rigor and industry relevance. Collaborate with industry partners to align curriculum with current bioprocess trends and technologies.
Contribute to the design and revision of syllabi for UG and PG programs in Bioprocess Engineering. Participate in academic committees and faculty meetings to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes. Mentor students through academic counseling, project guidance, and career advice.
Master Level Teaching
Handle master-level courses such as Bioprocess Modeling and Simulation, Enzyme Engineering, and Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing. Guide students in selecting research topics, conducting literature reviews, and executing experimental work in the bioprocess lab. Encourage interdisciplinary research linking engineering with biology and industrial applications.
Assist in the development of new electives like Bioenergy Systems and Waste Valorization to meet industry demands. Organize guest lectures by professionals from biopharma and fermentation industries. Support students in publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals to build academic credibility.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Bioprocess Engineering or a closely related field with a minimum of 55% marks. Those without a Ph.D. may apply if they have qualified NET/SLET and possess at least 3 years of teaching or research experience. Publications in Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals are mandatory for consideration.
Proficiency in bioprocess software tools such as Aspen Plus and COMSOL is desirable. Experience in supervising sponsored projects or consultancy work in bioprocess industries will be an added advantage. Familiarity with NEP 2020 guidelines and outcome-based education is preferred.

The role requires maintaining an Annual Performance Indicator (API) score of at least 100 for career progression as per UGC norms.
