Day-to-Day Duties
As a PROFESSOR of Machine Design, you will be responsible for:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Machine Design
- Conducting research in Machine Design and related areas
- Publishing research papers in reputable journals
- Supervising Ph.D. students in Machine Design
- Evaluating theses and dissertations submitted by students
- Developing and maintaining laboratory infrastructure
- Collaborating with other faculty members on research projects
- Mentoring junior faculty members in research and academics
- Participating in departmental and institutional committees
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this position, you must possess a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Machine Design. A post-doctoral experience is preferred, and a UGC-NET with JRF is mandatory. You should have a strong research background and a proven track record of publication in reputable journals.
Academic Projects
As a PROFESSOR of Machine Design, you will be expected to engage in academic projects that promote research and academic excellence. Opportunities for collaborative projects with other departments and institutions are available, and funding opportunities will be provided to support your research endeavors. You are expected to publish your research findings in reputable journals and present at international conferences.
Research Leadership
As a senior faculty member, you will be expected to guide doctoral students in Machine Design and evaluate their theses. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior faculty members in research and academics. Your research leadership skills will be evaluated based on the quality of research output and the academic achievements of your students.
Salary and Benefits
The selected candidate will be offered a salary of Rs.60,000 - Rs.90,000 per month, as per UGC norms, and research grants will be provided to support your research endeavors. Other benefits, including medical insurance and leave travel allowance, will be offered as per UGC regulations.
