About This Role
As a senior faculty member at International Public School, we seek an experienced PGT Economics Teacher to lead the economics department and mentor students towards academic excellence in Economics. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding students in understanding the complex concepts of Economics and preparing them for board exams. Day-to-Day Duties
- Teach Economics to classes 11 and 12, focusing on theory and practical application
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating real-life examples and case studies
- Prepare students for board exams, providing individualized attention and feedback
- Lead discussions on contemporary economic issues, encouraging critical thinking and debate
- Conduct periodic assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop a cohesive and comprehensive economics curriculum
- Mentor students for Economics projects and presentations, fostering their research and analytical skills
- Stay updated with the latest developments in Economics, incorporating new knowledge into teaching practices
- Assist in maintaining a well-organized and equipped economics laboratory and resource room
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in Economics (MA or MSc) or a related field. A minimum of three years of teaching experience in Economics, preferably in a school setting, is required. A Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is necessary for teaching positions. While not mandatory, a Teaching Eligibility Test (TET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) certification is preferred.
