Core Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily dance classes for students, ensuring alignment with school curriculum while integrating age-appropriate techniques. Develop engaging lesson plans covering classical, folk, and contemporary dance styles to cater to diverse student interests. Assess students’ progress through practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
Teach fundamental dance skills such as posture, footwork, and performance techniques while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with the school’s arts department to organize inter-house dance competitions, cultural events, and extracurricular activities that highlight student talent. Ensure all dance equipment and resources are properly maintained and available for classes.
Secondary Responsibilities
Incorporate cultural dance forms from India into lessons to promote national pride and heritage awareness. Work closely with parents and school administration to communicate student achievements and areas needing improvement. Participate in teacher training workshops or online courses to stay updated on best practices in dance education.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in dance or related arts subjects. A graduate degree in dance, physical education, or a related field is essential. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, prior experience in teaching dance to school-age students is highly valued.
