About This Role
The Swimming Coach will oversee the complete swimming curriculum and facility management for Gd Goenka School Muzaffarnagar. Responsibilities include coaching students from beginner to advanced levels, maintaining pool hygiene, and coordinating with lifeguards and support staff. The role demands hands-on leadership in training schedules, equipment procurement, and inter-school competition participation. This is a full-time, non-teaching position focused on administration, staff management, and program excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement structured swimming lessons for 300+ students across grades 1 to 12. Conduct daily training sessions, monitor progress, and maintain performance records in the school’s digital sports portal.
Manage a team of assistant coaches, lifeguards, and pool attendants. Assign duties, conduct weekly staff meetings, and ensure adherence to safety guidelines issued by the National Swimming Federation.
Oversee pool maintenance, chemical dosing, and equipment inventory. Coordinate with vendors for repairs and upgrades, and maintain daily logbooks for water quality and equipment status.
Organize inter-house and inter-school swimming competitions. Prepare teams for district and state-level tournaments, and represent Gd Goenka School Muzaffarnagar in sports meets across Uttar Pradesh.
Develop annual training calendars aligned with school sports policy and CBSE sports guidelines. Submit monthly progress reports to the sports coordinator and principal.
Ensure 100% compliance with NIS (National Institute of Sports) training standards. Attend quarterly review meetings with the sports department head to align program goals with school vision.
Conduct parent orientation sessions on swimming safety and skill development. Maintain open communication channels for feedback and suggestions from students and families.
Implement a zero-tolerance policy for bullying or misconduct in pool areas. Work closely with the school counselor and discipline committee to resolve conflicts and promote sportsmanship.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in Physical Education or Sports Science from a recognized university. Minimum 3 years of full-time experience as a Swimming Coach in a school or sports academy.
Prior experience managing teams of coaches and support staff is mandatory. Certification in lifeguard training or first aid will be an added advantage.
Experience with competitive swimming programs and inter-school tournaments is preferred. Familiarity with CBSE sports guidelines is desirable.
