PGT Biology Teacher Job in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh | School Recruitment
Role Summary
L.s.p Public School is expanding its Biology department and invites applications for a senior PGT Biology Teacher who can lead curriculum delivery, mentor junior staff, and drive academic excellence in Powayan, Shahjahanpur. This is not an entry-level role; experience shaping young minds in Biology is essential. Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and review the annual Biology curriculum for Classes 11 and 12, ensuring alignment with CBSE guidelines and local board expectations. Oversee laboratory sessions, manage specimen procurement, and maintain safety protocols as per NEP 2020 directives.
Monitor student progress through unit tests, mock examinations, and periodic assessments, providing timely feedback to parents and guardians via the school ERP. Aim for consistent improvement in board results, with a focus on high-order thinking questions in Biology.
Supervise two to three TGT Biology teachers, conduct classroom observations, and guide them in adopting student-centric teaching methods. Organize departmental meetings every fortnight to share best practices and address recurring academic challenges.
Develop and update teaching aids, lab manuals, and digital content for Biology, integrating local ecological examples from the Terai region to enhance engagement. Prepare students for competitive exams like NEET and Olympiads through weekend mentoring sessions.
Maintain accurate records of practical work, attendance, and remedial support provided to students. Coordinate with the school counselor to address learning gaps identified in Biology.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Zoology, Botany, or Life Sciences with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university. B.Ed is mandatory for Biology teaching roles in Uttar Pradesh schools.
Five years of full-time Biology teaching experience at the senior secondary level, preferably in CBSE-affiliated institutions. Preference will be given to candidates who have cleared UGC-NET or SET in Life Sciences.
TET/CTET qualification is not mandatory but will be considered an added advantage during selection. Fluency in Hindi and English is necessary for seamless communication with students and parents.

What You Get
