Core Responsibilities
Teach fundamental music theory, instruments, and vocal techniques to students in grades 1 to 8. Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that blend traditional and modern musical elements, ensuring interactive and enjoyable learning experiences. Organize and lead weekly music classes, including group performances and solo practice sessions, to build confidence and musical skills.
Collaborate with the school’s curriculum team to integrate music into broader educational goals, such as promoting discipline, rhythm, and cultural appreciation. Maintain student records, track progress, and provide constructive feedback to help each child improve their skills over time. Participate in school events, including festivals and extracurricular activities, to showcase music talent and strengthen community engagement.
Ensure classroom management is smooth, creating a supportive environment where students feel motivated to explore music. Stay updated on teaching methods, new musical trends, and educational best practices to continuously enhance lesson delivery. Assist in organizing school-wide music competitions or workshops to encourage participation and showcase talent.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a graduate degree with a minimum of two years of teaching experience in music or related subjects. Possess a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification to qualify for PRT roles in Uttar Pradesh. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, having a valid teaching certificate will be an advantage. Familiarity with school music programs and resources in Sonbhadra will be beneficial.
