Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum aligned with the school’s vision. Oversee the scheduling of rehearsals, performances and extracurricular events. Coordinate with senior management to integrate music activities into the broader co‑curricular framework.
Manage the music department’s resources, including instruments, audio‑visual equipment and learning materials. Ensure proper maintenance, inventory control and budgeting for new acquisitions. Prepare reports on programme outcomes for the principal and board.
Lead a small team of support staff, providing guidance, performance feedback and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and student participation.
Engage with parents and community partners to promote music initiatives, organize concerts and represent the school at local cultural events. Maintain records of student progress and achievement for internal review.
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate degree in any discipline with a strong background in music. Minimum two years of experience in managing music programmes or related administrative functions. Preference given to candidates holding B.Ed or D.El.Ed and having cleared TET/CTET, though not mandatory.
Skills and Attributes
Excellent organisational and leadership abilities. Strong communication skills for interacting with students, parents and staff. Proficiency in using music software and basic IT tools. Ability to work independently while aligning with the school’s educational objectives.
