Tulas Institute invites applications for the position of ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - Business Law in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Day-to-Day Duties
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business Law, including Company Law, Competition Law, and Intellectual Property Rights, using case-study and moot-court methodologies. Prepare and update syllabi in consultation with the Board of Studies to reflect recent judicial precedents and legislative amendments.
Conduct high-impact research in Business Law, publishing at least two papers annually in UGC-listed or Scopus-indexed journals. Present findings at national and international conferences, including events organized by the Indian Society of International Law and the Bar Council of India.
Guide Ph.D. scholars in Business Law, ensuring timely progress through regular mentoring sessions and thesis reviews. Collaborate with industry partners in Dehradun and Haridwar to develop field-based research projects on startup ecosystems and MSME compliance.
Eligibility Criteria
A Ph.D. in Business Law, Corporate Law, or Commercial Law from a recognized Indian university is mandatory. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience or industry exposure in legal practice will be preferred.
UGC-NET with JRF or equivalent qualification like SLET/SET in Law is required if Ph.D. is not completed. Minimum four years of teaching or research experience in a university or autonomous college is essential.
Academic Projects
Lead collaborative projects on corporate insolvency and cross-border mergers with funding from UGC-MRP, ICSSR, or industry CSR initiatives. Publish edited volumes and monographs through reputed publishers such as Eastern Book Company or LexisNexis.
Organize national seminars on emerging trends in Business Law in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand. Supervise students in drafting research papers for competitions like the Surana & Surana Moot Court and the Tulas Corporate Law Essay Contest.
Doctoral Guidance
Serve as research supervisor for doctoral candidates in Business Law, guiding them through topic finalization, literature review, and viva preparation. Evaluate external theses for universities across India and participate in doctoral committees at Tulas Institute and partner institutions.
Engage with the Doctoral Research Committee to align research themes with industry demands in Dehradun’s IT and manufacturing sectors. Encourage interdisciplinary linkages with departments of Commerce and Management for joint publications.
What You Get
The monthly salary for the ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - Business Law position ranges from Rs.55,000 to Rs.80,000 as per UGC norms, with additional research grants for approved projects.
