Tulas Institute invites applications for the position of ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - Distributed Systems. This full-time role focuses on delivering advanced courses, guiding doctoral scholars, and fostering research in distributed computing across Uttarakhand. What You Will Do
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, and Parallel Architectures to students from diverse backgrounds. Participate in curriculum design for emerging specializations such as Edge Computing and IoT Systems.
Conduct and publish original research in distributed algorithms, fault tolerance, or consensus protocols aligned with Tulas Institute’s research agenda. Supervise PhD scholars and guide their thesis work toward timely completion. Serve on academic committees including board of studies and examination boards. Organize workshops and hackathons in collaboration with industry partners in Dehradun.
Eligibility Criteria
PhD in Computer Science with specialization in Distributed Systems or closely related field from a recognized university. NET/SLET qualified candidates may apply if PhD is not completed, but preference is given to doctoral holders. Minimum four years of teaching or research experience in Distributed Systems at the university level is required.
Industry experience in cloud platforms, container orchestration, or middleware development is preferred. Familiarity with tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and distributed tracing frameworks is an added advantage. Publication record in Scopus/WoS indexed journals is desirable.
