The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Tulas Institute is expanding its research footprint in drug design, synthesis, and analytical method development. Day-to-Day Duties
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in pharmaceutical chemistry, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and analytical techniques. Prepare lesson plans, laboratory manuals, and digital content aligned with UGC model curricula and PCI standards.
Design and deliver lectures that blend classical medicinal chemistry with modern computational tools like docking and QSAR. Supervise laboratory sessions on HPLC, GC, and UV spectroscopy for M.Pharm students.
Publish original research in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus/Web of Science with an emphasis on high-impact factor publications. Present findings at national and international conferences in India and abroad.
Guide M.Pharm and Ph.D. students in their dissertation and thesis work, ensuring ethical compliance and timely completion. Co-author papers with students and junior faculty to build a strong publication pipeline.
Develop collaborative research projects with industry partners in Uttarakhand and Delhi-NCR. Apply for extramural funding from DST-SERB, ICMR, and UGC to support laboratory upgrades and student fellowships.
Organize workshops and guest lectures by visiting professors from NIPER or IITs to enrich classroom learning. Maintain industry-academia interaction through periodic consultancy assignments.
Participate in university-level academic committees such as Board of Studies and Doctoral Research Committee. Contribute to syllabus revision and curriculum design for PCI compliance.
Engage in outreach activities like science exhibitions in local schools around Dehradun to promote pharmaceutical education. Mentor student clubs focused on research and innovation.
Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry from a recognized university is mandatory. Post-doctoral research or industry experience in drug development is strongly preferred.
UGC-NET with JRF qualification is required if Ph.D. is not completed; otherwise, NET qualified candidates with Ph.D. are encouraged to apply. Minimum four years of teaching/research experience in a PCI/UGC-recognized institution is essential.
Publications in Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals with a minimum h-index of 3 are desirable. Experience in guiding M.Pharm dissertations or supervising Ph.D. scholars will be given preference.
Research & Publications
Lead collaborative projects with departments of pharmacology and biochemistry within Tulas Institute. Joint ventures with Himalayan Drug Company and other regional pharma units are encouraged for applied research.

What You Get
The position offers a consolidated monthly salary of Rs.55,000 to Rs.80,000 as per UGC seventh pay scale norms. Additional research grants up to Rs.2 lakh per annum are available for approved projects.
