Role Summary
Dsb International School is inviting applications for the position of Marching Band Instructor for its campus in Rishikesh. The role requires a seasoned professional to lead and manage the school’s marching band, ensuring high standards of performance and discipline. This is a full-time, non-teaching administrative position focused on leadership, training, and event coordination.
What You Will Do
1. Plan, organize, and conduct regular marching band rehearsals for students aged 12 to 18.
2. Train students in instrument handling, marching formations, and synchronized movements.
3. Coordinate with the school’s cultural and sports departments for events and competitions.
4. Select and maintain a repertoire of patriotic, classical, and modern band pieces suitable for school events.
5. Oversee the procurement, upkeep, and inventory of musical instruments and accessories.
6. Prepare the marching band for annual functions, Republic Day, Independence Day, and inter-school competitions.
7. Document student progress, attendance, and performance metrics for reporting to the school management.
8. Conduct periodic auditions and recruit talented students for the marching band ensemble.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in Music or a related field from a recognized university. Proficiency in computers for scheduling, music software, and documentation is essential. Experience in school or community band leadership is preferred.
Preferred Skills
Strong leadership and motivational skills to inspire young musicians.
Knowledge of Indian classical, Western, and contemporary marching band music.
Ability to work with limited resources while maintaining high artistic standards.
Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi for instruction and coordination.
Salary and Benefits
The selected candidate will receive a fixed monthly salary between Rs.25,000 and Rs.45,000, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include free accommodation or transport allowance, uniform, and access to school facilities.
