About This Role
Tulas Institute invites applications for the position of Professor in Animal Husbandry in Dehradun. This full-time role requires extensive teaching, research, and academic leadership in animal sciences. The position is open under UGC norms for candidates with a PhD and minimum six years of post-PhD experience.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in Animal Husbandry including livestock production, dairy science, poultry management, and veterinary practices. Develop and deliver postgraduate courses in specialized areas such as animal nutrition, genetics, and health management. Design and update syllabi in alignment with UGC and ICAR guidelines.
Conduct advanced research in animal husbandry and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science. Supervise postgraduate dissertations and guide PhD scholars in their research work. Lead departmental initiatives such as workshops, seminars, and field extension programs in Uttarakhand.
Postgraduate Students
Guide master’s level students in their dissertation work across areas like livestock breeding, feed technology, and sustainable farming systems. Organize practical training sessions at the university’s experimental farm and dairy unit. Collaborate with local farmers and veterinary agencies to support field-based learning in Dehradun and surrounding hill districts.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must hold a PhD in Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science, Veterinary Science, or a related discipline with a minimum of 55% marks. A valid NET/SLET qualification is required if PhD is not completed. Minimum six years of teaching or research experience in a recognized institution is mandatory.
Strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation in national or international conferences is essential. Familiarity with UGC regulations on academic performance indicators and faculty evaluation is preferred.
