Role Summary
Tulas Institute’s School of Law invites applications for the position of Professor – Business Law. Key Responsibilities
Teach advanced courses in Business Law including Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, and International Commercial Arbitration at postgraduate and doctoral levels. Curriculum design and case study development are integral to classroom delivery.
Lead research projects funded by government agencies, corporate sponsors, or international foundations. Collaborate with the Centre for Legal Studies at Tulas Institute to organize annual symposia on emerging trends in business regulations.
Publish regularly in UGC-listed and Scopus-indexed journals. Supervise doctoral scholars from admission to thesis submission, ensuring adherence to UGC research guidelines and ethical standards.
Participate in national and international conferences representing Tulas Institute’s legal research group. Engage with local bar associations and industry clusters to identify real-world legal challenges suitable for academic inquiry.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Business Law or Corporate Law from a recognized university is mandatory. Post-doctoral research or visiting fellowships at national law universities will be preferred.
Candidates must have qualified UGC-NET with JRF or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC norms. Minimum six years of full-time teaching experience in Business Law at a university or autonomous college is required.
Proficiency in drafting policy briefs, research reports, and grant proposals is essential. Familiarity with Indian legal databases such as Manupatra and SCC Online is advantageous.
Research & Publications
Tulas Institute provides seed grants for exploratory research in business law. Faculty are encouraged to apply for external funding from bodies like ICSSR, DST, and corporate CSR funds.
Publication targets include at least two peer-reviewed articles annually in journals recognized by UGC-CARE. Co-authored works with junior faculty and doctoral students are strongly encouraged to build a collaborative research culture.
The university hosts an annual Business Law Research Colloquium where faculty present works-in-progress. Selected papers are published in the Tulas Law Review, a UGC-listed journal with a growing readership.
Doctoral Guidance
