Role Summary:
Tulas Institute, a renowned university in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, invites applications for the position of PROFESSOR - Pharmacognosy. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in pharmacognosy, including pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and pharmacological studies.
- Conduct research in pharmacognosy, including the isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds from natural sources, and publish research findings in top-tier journals.
- Supervise Ph.D. students and guide them in their research projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality thesis submissions.
- Collaborate with other faculty members in the department to develop new courses and programs in pharmacognosy.
- Participate in departmental and university-level committees to promote academic excellence and research innovation.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to engage students in the learning process.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of pharmacognosy and incorporate new knowledge into the curriculum.
- Foster strong relationships with industry partners and research institutions to facilitate collaborative research projects and internships for students.
- Engage in academic and professional development activities to enhance teaching and research skills.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy or a related field is mandatory for the position of PROFESSOR.
- A post-doctoral research experience is preferred, with a strong track record of research productivity and publication in top-tier journals.
- Candidates must have a UGC-NET (Junior Research Fellowship) or SLET (State Level Eligibility Test) qualification, as per UGC norms.
Research & Publications:
- The selected candidate will be expected to develop and lead research projects in pharmacognosy, including collaborative projects with industry partners and research institutions.
- Opportunities for research funding are available through internal and external grants, including those from the UGC, DST, and CSIR.
- The university has a strong emphasis on research publication, with a track record of publication in top-tier journals, including the Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Phytotherapy Research, and Journal of Ethnopharmacology.
Research Leadership:
